About Us

Johnny

“The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Angie’s is family, a family business that we run, my brother, sister, mother, aunts and cousins are all involved and come through here. This is a business we took over when my father got sick unfortunately, so it’s kind of been the glue that has kept the rest of the family together.”

“There is an incredible sense of pride from everyone that works here. Pride in our community and the three generations of customers that we have…We recognize all the faces…We’ve seen kids come in with their parents and grandparents and have literally seen them grow up.”

“My favorite meal that I feel is a showcase dish for Angie’s Pizza is either the Chicken Parmesan or the Lasagna, or anything that my mother makes as a special. I don’t think that there is a cook in Southeastern CT that will beat that…All her soups and entrees are old school Greek recipes. They are all home runs.”

Jennifer

Jennifer has been with Angie’s Pizza & Pier 27 for over 14 years! She loves the customers.

“Being here as long as I have, I see a ton of regulars who have really become more like family to me. No matter how long they have been coming to Angie’s, our regulars order the same things over and over. They like what they like! The menu item that I get the most requests for besides pizza is the Eggplant Parmesan, both the grinder and the dinner.”

Jennifer’s favorite item is the Black and Blue Burger followed closely by the Chicken Souvlaki, which is marinated chicken, onions and tomatoes wrapped in a Pita served with a special cucumber sauce on the side.

Jennifer plays as hard as she works and free time is limited since she has worked two full-time jobs for 14 years. Jennifer has been known to “…vacation very well in her spare time…” visiting places like Las Vegas, Greece, Florida, Maine, South Carolina, and many others.

Marie

Marie has been a bartender at Angie’s for three years. She likes everyone she works with and together they have created a nice, fun atmosphere.

“My customers are awesome! We have a lot of regulars and they make coming to work like coming home. They come in to see all of us…”

“I’m a vegetarian so my favorite item on the menu is the Athenian pizza which is a white pizza with Sliced Tomato, Spinach, Artichokes and Ricotta, it’s very good, and I also like our Mozzarella sticks.”

“I’ve been working a lot over the summer to save up for a big vacation to Australia! I’ve never been, and I thought why not do something crazy! When I’m not here I’ve been working on Do It Yourself Projects in my new apartment. I also like going to the beach, being active and working out.”

Jessica

Jessica has worked at Angie’s for over 9 years

“My favorite food on the menu is a basic cheese pizza which we seem to be making all the time. It’s simple and good. We use mozzarella and a little something else that makes it Angie’s.

“In my free time, I love to do things around the yard and care for my two Pit Bulls, Aria and McHale, named after characters from Game of Thrones and Lost. Whenever I can find the time I love to travel with my better half and New Orleans is one of our top destinations.

“My favorite part of working at Angie’s is waiting on all the locals and meeting the new tourists here and there.”

Allison

Allison has worked at Angie’s for over 8 years.

“I love working at Angie’s because: They are a big family. A lot of the staff were friends before they started working here or have made long term friends since. Sometimes we spend holidays together and do outings together. Some of us went to High School together!

“My favorite food on the menu: I love seafood, so I would say either the Clam Strips or the Whole Belly Clam dinner. We have that all year round and not everyone does that.

“What do you do when you are not working: Spending time with my dogs Ari and McHale. I also love making crafts whether they are iron-ons for t-shirts, or making scrapbooks, you name it, I dabble in it. I can take any kind of design online and transform it with my dye-cut machine that cuts out iron-on heat transfer vinyl. I made all my Christmas presents last year!”

Stacy

Stacy started at Angie’s when the restaurant first opened in 1997. She was 21 at the time. Now, she helps out five days a week and each time she’s doing something different. “Whether it’s managing, serving, bartending or cooking, I’ve become that person who can go wherever I’m needed most.”

“I love Angie’s for so many reasons, but it all comes down to family. From our own family to our long-time employees and repeat customers, these are my people! My mom even comes in a couple times each week to cook homemade Greek dishes, it’s really special.”

Stacy can’t say no to pasta and her favorite food on the menu is, of course, the Eggplant Parmesan! This homemade dish features fresh pasta and thin, perfectly crisp eggplant slices topped with basil and mozzarella. “The chicken parm is definitely a close second!”

Stacy’s family, in and outside of Angie’s, is what keeps her smiling. As a mom of two young boys, Alexander and Dimitri, she’s always on the go. “It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s family. I can’t imagine it any other way.”
